We analysed a variety of different approaches detailed in social media marketing guides, attended various marketing workshops, and also looked at a number of transparent case studies to determine what the most proven and successful ingredients to creating a social media strategy were. What we found was that there were a number of key steps that were commonly used to develop the most successful strategies. What follows is our compilation of the most important considerations that need to be made when developing a strategy, ordered into a step-by-step process that can be easily followed when developing your own. These different sections can be broken down into the following main stages: Setting Objectives, Landscape Analysis, Content Strategy, Dissemination, Engagement and Participation. It is also extremely important to Measure and Evaluate your strategy regularly.
